THE CHILDREN’S HOUSE OF WELLINGTON

Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child open up to life

Twenty years ago Catherine Williams walked into Holland Day School to inquire about enrolling her youngest child, Scotti, in preschool.  She never left.

She was offered various positions starting with a part-time aide and ended with being a 3-6 Montessori teacher. Scotti is now an elementary teacher herself.

In the fall of 2003 Catherine, or Miss Kitty as we know her, reached her dream and opened the Children’s House of Wellington (CHOW as we know it).   Having spent many years teaching Montessori, Kitty knew exactly what she wanted in her own school.  By doing it on her own she could guarantee to keep tabs on her school- monitor the growth, ensuring top-notch quality and having a dedicated staff.

A fun piece of trivia about Kitty…she is the mother to four daughters, each of these daughters were given boys’ names.  Kitty wanted to send a message of choice to her girls that will last a lifetime.

In her spare time you will find Kitty on the golf course.  Her daughters think she might be addicted and she doesn’t contest it.

    WE LOVE OUR SCHOOL!!
